Nøx Varek (also written Nox Varek) is a cinematic dark music project from Brazil. It blends progressive metal, djent, orchestral arrangements and choirs into story-driven albums, and every album is its own world. On October 2 the project released The Last Oath, the first single from its debut album The Fallen Crown, together with an official music video on YouTube.

Who is Nøx Varek

Some stories rise from mythology: fallen gods, ancient kingdoms, forgotten wars. Others come from real life: loss, memory, identity, the versions of ourselves we never became. Nøx Varek lives where the two collide.

The project stays faceless on purpose. The masked identity puts the story above the person behind it, so the listener meets a wanderer, a sigil and a broken crown instead of a celebrity. The full background is on the official biography.

The first world: The Fallen Crown

The Fallen Crown follows a man who loses everything he believed defined him. The crown stands for ambition, ego, status and control: everything we confuse with who we are. The album is told in four acts, from the fall to the moment he learns to move forward without it.

“You cannot change what happened. You can choose what happens next.”The core idea of The Fallen Crown

Every song carries a symbol from the old Norse world, from the sigil of the project to one rune per track. They are explained on the symbology page.

How Nøx Varek is made

Lyrics, vocals, concepts and creative direction are human. Artificial intelligence is used as one instrument among many, to build instrumentals and soundscapes from original drafts. Then every track is refined, mixed and mastered by hand in Reaper. Cover art, visuals and music videos are made in-house.

The project would rather be open about the process than hide it: behind each song there are years of professional production work and a human hand at every step, from the first idea to the final master.
