Nox Varek: the independent music project fusing cinematic rock, progressive metal, djent and dark R&B
From Brazil, a masked project with a concept album in four acts, a Norse rune sealing every song, music videos built frame by frame and a label behind it. The Fallen Crown arrives on 13 November 2026, and a second era is already being prepared for 2027.
Nox Varek (also written Nox Varek) is an independent music project from Brazil that blends cinematic rock, progressive rock, progressive metal and djent with orchestral arrangements, choirs and, in its next chapter, the slow and sensual pulse of dark R&B. Every album is a world of its own. The first one, The Fallen Crown, is already unfolding: the single The Last Oath is out with an official music video on YouTube, Ashes of the Crown followed on 16 October with its own music video, A Thousand Graves came out on 30 October, and the full album lands on 13 November 2026.
- 10songs in four acts
- 10Norse runes, one per song
- 5languages on the official site
- 2027new album and new era
A project run like a label release
Nox Varek is produced and released by Cronos Build Records, which oversees production, release planning, visual direction and marketing. Nothing here is improvised. The project runs on a calendar: a new single every two weeks, a music video or visualizer for every track, a pre-save campaign for the album, a newsletter, paid campaigns that carry each release further, and an official site published in five languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.
Behind the mask, the work is organised like a studio. Writing and vocals, production, mixing and mastering, visual direction and release marketing each have their own stage, and each stage gets the same seriousness: original material, careful revisions and a final check before anything goes out. The YouTube channel is already recognised as an Official Artist Channel, and the music is distributed to every major platform.
That consistency is a choice. Sustained investment in production, music videos, design and promotion is what turns a set of songs into a project people can follow release after release, and it is what lets Nox Varek keep raising its own bar with every chapter.

The sound: progressive rock, progressive metal, djent and dark R&B
The music of Nox Varek is built in layers. From cinematic and progressive rock it takes the long arc: songs that move through sections, build tension and release it, and tell a story from the first second to the last. From progressive metal and djent it takes the weight: low-tuned guitars, syncopated riffs, polyrhythmic grooves and breakdowns that hit like a wall.
Orchestras and choirs give the songs their cinematic scale, so each track plays like a scene from a film. And on the road to 2027, the project is pulling in the language of dark R&B: half-time grooves, vocals close to the microphone, falsetto lines and a sensual tension that sits right next to the heaviness. Heavy and intimate at the same time, with melodies written to be sung back.
“Some stories rise from mythology. Others come from real life. Nox Varek lives where the two collide.”From the official biography of Nox Varek
The Fallen Crown: a concept album in four acts
The Fallen Crown follows a man who loses everything he believed defined him. The crown stands for ambition, ego, status and control: everything we confuse with who we are. The album is told in four acts, from the fall to the moment he learns to move forward without it.

Norse runes and symbols in every song
Nox Varek speaks in symbols. The sigil of the project is a crown made of runes, and every song of The Fallen Crown is sealed by a rune of the Elder Futhark, following the path of the story. Above the whole album stands ᚱ Raidho, the journey. Even the name hides one: the Ø of Nox is Othala, the rune of inheritance.
| # | Song | Rune | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | The Last Oath | ᛏ Tiwaz | Týr, the god of oaths: a promise kept at a price |
| 02 | Ashes of the Crown | ᚠ Fehu | wealth and gold, the source of strife |
| 03 | A Thousand Graves | ᚾ Nauthiz | need and hardship that turn into responsibility |
| 04 | Crown of the Fallen | ᛟ Othala | inheritance, and the rune hidden in the Ø of the name |
| 05 | The King Without a Throne | ᛗ Mannaz | the human being, what remains without the crown |
| 06 | Blood and Iron | ᚦ Thurisaz | the thorn, a war that wounds whoever wages it |
| 07 | The Gods Above | ᚨ Ansuz | Odin and wisdom: seeing the powers placed above us |
| 08 | When the Gods Fall | ᚺ Hagalaz | hail, illusions falling and becoming something new |
| 09 | The Last Kingdom | ᛒ Berkano | the birch, new growth after everything was lost |
| 10 | No Crown, No King | ᛞ Dagaz | day: the crown left behind, and morning |
ᚾᛟᚲᛊ ᚹᚨᚱᛖᚲ
The crown, the altar, the banner, white roses and molten gold each carry a meaning in the story. All of them are explained on the Nox Varek symbology page.
The music videos: ink, gold and a broken crown
The Last Oath opens the story as a manuscript coming to life: ink and wash on aged parchment, a lone wanderer, a kingdom at war and a crown that will cost him everything. It is the first chapter of Act I and the first official music video of Nox Varek.

Ashes of the Crown, the second single, came out on 16 October with a music video of its own: the price of the oath comes due, gold runs from the crown like water and the kingdom burns. The cuts land on the beat of the song.

A Thousand Graves closes Act I in the same ink-and-parchment world as The Last Oath: the wanderer kneels among the graves of the war he swore to win, and stands again with his spear while the ravens watch.

For the other songs, Nox Varek is releasing visualizers: a single fixed shot from the world of the album, where the image moves slowly with the music. Every visualizer returns to the same place, the altar and the banner of the ruined kingdom, and every one raises the rune of its own song on the flag. In Crown of the Fallen the crown melts on the altar until nothing is left; by No Crown, No King the crown is gone, a great tree has grown over the ruins and the banner of day flies over the white roses. The characters: the wanderer and the masked figure
Nox Varek has no public face. The mask keeps the story above the person behind it. In The Fallen Crown, the story is carried by the wanderer: a hooded warrior with an etched metal mask, a black fur mantle, runes along his cloak and a spear at his side.

A new figure is already standing in the wings. Under a black chain-mesh veil, in a long black coat with columns of gold runes down the front and the sigil embroidered on the back, he sits on a stone throne split by cracks of gold, in a hall divided between white and black marble. Look closely at the veil and something golden seems to wait underneath.

How the music is made
Lyrics, vocals, concepts and creative direction are human. AI tools are used as one instrument among many, for instrumentals and soundscapes built from original drafts and for parts of the visual pipeline, always under human direction. Then every track is refined, mixed and mastered by hand. The project would rather be open about the process than hide it: behind each song there is a human hand at every step, from the first idea to the final master.
2027: a new album wrapped in mystery
The Fallen Crown is the first world, not the last. A second album is already in production, and almost nothing about it has been revealed: no title, no tracklist, only fragments. A golden half skull. Black and white marble split by a seam of gold. A veil that hides more than a face.
Alongside the new album, a complete rebrand is being prepared: a new logo, a new visual identity and a new character. And for the first time, the human side of the project steps out from behind the scenes. Until now, the person behind Nox Varek worked only in the studio; in 2027 that presence moves into the media and in front of the camera, still masked and with the face never shown, with performances, behind-the-scenes content and a much closer connection with the people who listen.
More is on the way: early listens for the inner circle, more music videos, more ways to take part in the story, and a project that keeps evolving release after release.
